Independent riding with perks is finally here! We’re highly experienced local cycling and travel experts. At WoWCuba we not only know the best routes and venues, but we also have all the resources to provide the support you need for a comfortable, worry-free self-guided cycling trip.

Our independent supported cycling trips begin & (mostly) end in Havana and focus on western Cuba. Your package includes top-notch bicycles, reservations in lodging hand-selected by our local team, luggage transfers (with options for pre-arranged bike pickups/equipment exchange on that schedule), recommendations for meals and activities, plus a detailed daily itinerary, route description and pre-programmed Garmin cycling computer to keep you on course. Emergency road repair services and optional guide services are even available if required (extra $).

Coastline, country villages and towns, a mountain biosphere reserve…this self-guided cycling trip with very attainable daily mileage offers a snapshot of life in Cuba. Begin with a ride west from Havana on Cuba’s north shore to the beach/artist community of Banes, visit the country town of Cabañas, and round out your adventure at the rural Las Terrazas sustainable development community in the Sierra del Rosario biosphere reserve. From there you have the option of returning to Havana by bike (no extra cost), or plan to have your bikes picked up at La Moka (included) and continue by taxi to your next destination. Your first night’s lodging is in the heart of Old Havana. From there ride west hugging Cuba’s north shore to the country town of Cabañas. Stop in the rural settlement at the port of Palma Rubia for a night (or two if you fancy squeezing in a beach day in Cayo Levisa). Your final destination is one of our favorite rural Viñales properties where you can settle in for your final two nights. The area is a National Park & Natural Monument and features a wealth of caves, horseback riding excursions, fertile farmland and lush landscapes to explore. Explore the Sierra del Rosario biosphere reserve for a couple of nights – outdoor activity options include ziplines, rivers, hiking to French coffee plantation ruins, organic gardens, or just kicking back and enjoying some Cuban coffee with lush mountain views. Stop at Mirador de San Diego next door to thermal springs and one of the best birdwatching areas in Cuba before hitting one of our favorite rural properties in Viñales for two nights. Viñales is a National Park & National Monument. Return to Havana via collective bus service. Overnight in Old Havana, then continue east to the off-the-beaten path area of Canasi, a managed flora reserve. Snorkelling, paddleboarding and more available there. The last leg of your journey takes you to the coastal town of Matanzas, city of bridges where you can tour one of Cuba’s most famous theatres, an architectural masterpiece, visit local art galleries/cafes, or check out some of the interesting cave formations close to town.
