On Cuba’s north shore in the province of Ciego de Avila are the offshore keys known as the Jardines del Rey (King’s Gardens), better known by international travelers as Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. In Cayo Paredon you can discover mangroves, channels, lagoons and flats ideal for fly fishing and spinning. Main species include tarpon, bonefish and permit. For your non-fishing partners, the excellent local tourism infrastructure and comfortable lodgings are sure to make for a pleasant holiday. Transfers to/from the fishing base are included from Cayo Coco or Cayo Guillermo hotels (although Cayo Coco will save you time), and a rental car is recommended if lodging outside of the keys. This option also provides you the opportunity to explore more of the local surroundings if desired during your off time.
