MacQueen's Island Tours is an independent privately-owned travel
company based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
We have been operating under the same ownership since 1977. We
are registered under the umbrella of our parent company PEI Stoveworks Limited
in Canada under #R104131339. Our trading address is 430 Queen Street,
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada C1A 4E8. Our company
trades under the names of MacQueen’s Island Tours, WoWCuba.com and
MacQueens.com. In Cuba we are represented in the Chamber of Commerce
by the Ministry of Tourism’s ground handler Havanatur S.A,
Volume II, Page 210. We also maintain a local operations office
in Cuba.
We operate & administer the following websites:

WoWCuba is our offline Cuba travel site with bicycle, motorcycle,
birdwatching tours, dive & fishing holidays, and of course hotels,
car rentals, and flights from Canada & the Caribbean and
more. www.wowcubatravel.com – WoWCuba Travel is a
site we created for online Cuba reservations in real time made through
the booking engine of our affiliate partners in Cuba. You can reserve
some flight routes and hotels online here. Confirmations are
instantaneous. All credit card processing made via this site is by CTN
Reservations, not MacQueen’s Island Tours.

About Our Staff…

Gordon |
Company founder. Born & raised in NY to PEI
& NS parents, got married and moved family to PEI in 1976,
opened a bicycle shop in Charlottetown, PEI, experimented in retailing
windmills & woodstoves, got into organic gardening, operated various seasonal PEI
businesses over the years including a U-haul franchise, a summer bmx racetrack in
Belfast PEI, an winter bmx/skate park in Charlottetown PEI, a
Kawasaki dealership, “The Crier” Ch’tn advertising… Founded PEI’s
largest and oldest bicycle business and tour company
in 1977, pioneered guided bicycle tours of Cuba in 1994. One PEI
resident who’d purchased a woodstove from him many years ago recently
remarked to me that Gordon is a man who is ahead of
his time. When not helping out around the office, he spends
a lot of time now making homemade wine, bread, and tending to the great
urban gardens at our headquarters.

Danny |
Cuba Tour Leader, MacQueen’s Bike Shop Manager, Mechanic Extraordinaire. Raised in PEI, been working in the bike business since grade 1 (wanting to go to work with Dad instead of to school), studied accounting, got shipped off to Cuba to start a winter bike tour program in 1993, learned Spanish, met an accomplished biking girl, married her and had 3 daughters, He & his family continue to travel between PEI & Cuba every year operating two seasonal businesses.

Havana Club Spin Studio owner, Tour Leader. Worked as a legal secretary, studied Spanish at the University of Havana & UPEI, made it through Salsa lessons without injury, went on a lot of bicycle tours of Cuba as a co-tour leader, led an Art & Architecture Tour in Cuba, operates a Spin Studio at MacQueen’s Bike Shop, assists with daily operations at the family’s bike business in Charlottetown, works as a customer service rep with Westjet (likes the travel benefits).

Cuba operations director. WoWCuba website content. Gave piano
lessons, worked as a tour guide, flight attendant & airline
customer service rep, studied English & languages in University,
joined the family travel agency, started accompanying bicycle tours & residing in Cuba in 1994, learned to dive, got married in 2001 so had to grow the business to stay in Cuba with husband and family, kept a sailboat for a few years, became an advanced diver, became a fixture on the back seat of Abel’s motorcycle, kept sanity (mostly, we think) after many years of working in a challenging destination.
A - WoWCuba Spanish website manager. Tour guide. Grew up a
terror in Cuba to a respectable family, straightened up and earned
an international relations degree in Kiev, had a couple of children,
fought the war in Angola, worked trading sugar in Russia, worked in
sales for a hotel chain, met & married Kristen at an ecotourism
conference, had her siblings live with at his house for awhile,
managed an optional excursion company, became an advanced diver,
became a tour guide for a cultural travel agency, translated WoWCuba
to Spanish, restored & rides 2 HD motorcycles from the late
40’s, became a grandfather. Abel’s the voice of reason, and has a
great perspective and insight on Cuba’s history and current
politics.

David |
Our photogenic marketing director, MacQueen’s.com website designer and longtime family friend who moved to PEI in 1971. Started Web marketing in January 1995 and awarded Industry Canada's "Heroes of the Information Highway" award for his early work. He arranges and oversees our PEI cycle tours and is actively involved in our Cuba sales department.

Maria |
While Maria is our Spanish speaking specialist for our Cuba products in the Canadian office, she also provides a supporting hand for our Island tours. She moved to PEI from Cuba in 1996 and does a lot of the behind the scenes work. She lives in Charlottetown with her husband Gabino and son, Gabriel. Maria is from Artemisa, in the Pinar del Rio area of Cuba.
