Discovery Tour - Western Cuba
If your idea of a vacation extends past the traditional beach holiday to interactively discovering Cuban culture, then read on........ Your Discovery Tour explores Havana before heading out into the countryside for waterfalls, cave systems, horseback riding, bird watching, snorkeling, and a boat ride up the Canimar River. Hotels range from the charming Beltran de Santa Cruz in Old Havana to charming eco-lodges in the western Cuba countryside - a perfect way to discover the real Cuba.

- Day 1
- Arrive Jose Marti Airport, Havana. Group airport transfer* to Beltran de Santa Cruz in Old Havana for accommodation.
- Day 2
- Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Columbus Cemetery and Revolution Square en route to walking tour of historic Old Havana. Lunch at Meson de la Flota Restaurant. Afternoon transfer to the Soroa Hotel in Sierra del Rosario mountains - a UNESCO Reserve of the Biosphere. BB, LB, D
- Day 3
- Depart for Las Terrazas Complex, nestled in the Sierra del Rosario mountains. Welcome cocktail at Rancho Curujey. Walking tour of Las Terrazas visiting residents, art workshops and artisans. Visit La Unión Garden and the house of local farmer Goenaga. Tour the ruins of Cañada del Infierno, a French coffee plantation. Learn about coffee production at the Buena Vista coffee plantation, the only 19th Century plantation built on the crest of a mountain, while enjoying the majestic mountain view. Visit the San Juan River, a beautiful natural bathing spot noted for over a century for its sulphur springs, clear, clean waters, and natural pools. Optional swimming. Lunch at a local restaurant before return to Soroa. Optional visits to the orchid garden, waterfall, or climb to the "Castle in the Clouds" lookout. Dinner at the hotel. BB, LB, D
- Day 4
- Transfer to Viñales to explore the Santo Tomas cave system, accompanied by a expert local guide. Lunch at Prehistory Mural and accommodation at the Hotel La Ermita, with a spectacular view of the village and mogotes (pincushion hills). Free afternoon to explore village or visit a favorite of ours, the Caridad Botanical Garden. BB, LB, D
- Day 5
- Horseback riding adventure through the valley, stopping for lunch at Rancho San Vicente with excellent bird watching opportunities. Don't miss the optional mineral baths, mud masks and massage services. Return to La Ermita for dinner and free evening - we strongly recommend visiting the village and local musicians! BB, LB, D
- Day 6
- Depart for Cayo Levisa, a small cay off the north shore, for a seafood lunch. Boat ride to the coral reef for optional snorkeling and diving. Late afternoon transfer back to the mainland. Return to Havana and the Beltran de Santa Cruz in the heart of historic Old Havana. Dinner and cabaret show in the Parisien, the famous Hotel Nacional's evening entertainment center BB, LB, DB
- Day 7
- Depart for Matanzas province, stopping at the Bacunayagua Bridge lookout. Visit the Caves of Bellamar and transfer to the Saturn Cave for a 1-hour snorkeling session. Canimar River boat tour, welcome cocktail and begin 11km river journey to Arboleda for homemade lunch and recreation activities. Activities include: horseback riding, rowboat rides, pony riding, hammocks, visit to the Slave Ruins and a farmer's house, trekking, and musical entertainment. 4 pm return boat ride and transfer back to Havana and Beltran de Santa Cruz. Farewell dinner at Cafe del Oriente, Havana's most elegant restaurant. BB, LB, DB
- Day 8
- Breakfast and group airport transfer* to Jose Marti Airport, Havana. BB

Group Airport Transfer* - Havanatur includes one incoming & one outgoing group airport transfer in the price of the tour. WoWCuba will designate a free transfer to accommodate the largest number of participants. For participants not in our designated transfer, we are able to offer collective transfers at the following per person rates:
