Cuba Cycle Tour Details

Features Group Tour Discount

MacQueen's Island Tours pioneered the Cuban cycle tourism industry in 1994, making us the longest-running international cycle tour operator in Cuba.

Our head office in Canada provides convenient reservations and payment options. A year round operations office in Havana ensures your travel runs smoothly. Experienced, expertly qualified multilingual destination representatives complement and enrich your cycling holiday.

Our Cuba cycle tours are accompanied by multilingual company destination representatives/mechanics, bilingual local guides, professional drivers, and fully equipped support vehicles. Our minimum ratio of tour staff to participant is 1:5. We accept up to 14 participants on our 1-week to 10-day tours, and up to 24 participants on the Vuelta Cuba.

Accommodations Our guided group tours generally stay at small scale resorts selected to provide personal service and an intimacy not available in larger properties. Character Inns and villas are typical. Most hotels have a 3 to 4 star rating from a variety of Cuban hotel chains. All have private baths. Rooms are almost always equipped with twin single beds. Singles We will be happy to match you up with a roommate for any of our trips. If a roommate cannot be arranged, the single supplement charge applies (payable when tour balance is due). Skill Level Each tour is designed to be accessible for novice to advanced cyclists. Average daily distances are 50-60 km (30-40 miles). A support van is on hand to shorten your cycling distances, if desired, and extra mileage is usually available to extend your cycling. Meals & Beverages As per itinerary. Please see our FAQ page on vegan diets. Bottled water is included on rides. Equipment With over 25 years experience selling and servicing high quality bikes, we've selected our best hybrid bicycles for use in Cuba. They are expertly maintained by our professional resident mechanics. Based on past experiences of loss and/or damage and lack of replacement parts, we do not recommend bringing your own bike. We encourage helmet use and have many sizes to choose from. If you have a favorite helmet you are welcome to bring it along. Many experienced cyclists also bring their personal saddles and clipless pedals. Cycling & Support Bicycle touring should be fun, so if you ever find the wind too strong, distance a little long, or terrain too hilly, our support van is ready to give you a lift. Daily distances average 50 km (31 mi) with additional mileage often available. Our goal is to finish cycling by lunch thus avoiding cycling during the heat of the day. Medical Considerations We recommend that participants have some cycling experience and be in reasonably good physical condition. Our guides have First Aid training and medical facilities in Cuba are very good. MacQueen's Island Tours offers and recommends emergency medical insurance. If your insurance does not cover you in Cuba, ask us about coverage options. Repeat Clients We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to seeing your faces again. A 5% "Alumni Discount" is available to anyone who has taken a previous cycle tour iwth MacQueen's Island Tours. What Is Included? Meals as per itinerary.
