Here's what our clients have to say...

I would like to take this opportunity to express appreciation for a well planned and executed 10 day cycling tour of Central and Western Cuba in March 2009.  From start to finish the trip was a once in a lifetime adventure of experiencing the life, culture, and landscapes of this wonderful country. We found the locals along the road to be most friendly and willing to have their picture taken. Even stopping their horse and oxen carts to allow you time to compose. Once I came across two farmers pulling and pushing a plow. I quickly did a U-turn to take a picture and just after taking it the "puller" stopped and walked towards me. He actually fell over his fence to speak to me. I showed him my sewed on Canada label and proceeded to explain that I was doing a 10 night cycling tour with Wowcuba. Just then M and Y, cycling with their tandem sped by pointed to them and exclaimed: "WowCuba". It was the same everywhere we travelled.
The Cuban guide-Rene was always keeping us informed of the all the great history and knowledge of how Cuba's politics and culture works. We found him to be a great asset and companion during the whole tour. Danny was always looking after us and ensuring that the bikes were in good working order and that we did not get astray. It was fun watching him "foraging" along the way for food and drinks that could be consumed. He bought several bunches of small green bananas from a roadside cart vendor. For days after, during lunch the staff would prepare deep fried bananas for our enjoyment. The van and driver did a very good job of transporting us and the bike trailer safely on our journeys. The accommodations, food, hiking, gardens, waterfalls and extra leisure time was well spent by all.

I participated in the Western Cuba Tour from March 23-30, 2008 along with my husband and a good friend. The entire tour was amazing from start to finish. Every single ride was well planned out, filled with uniquely Cuban experiences, and offered increasingly dramatic scenery. Just when I thought the rides could not get any better, any more beautiful, any more interesting, they did. In addition to exceptional riding which is what drew me to the opportunity in the first place, we had great accommodations, wonderful food and good company.
The Cuban guide Jose, was extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and fun! His history lessons were a welcome bonus to the tour and I learned quite a bit more than I anticipated about the politcal and cultural history of Cuba. Luis was a patient and kind driver, not to mention skilled in navigating the Cuban roads. In particular, Danny went out of his way to ensure every single individual on the tour had a fabulous time..... from 'sweeping' the riders to make sure everyone was OK on the mixed terrain, to creating opportunities to experience Cuba outside of the riding... the rums, the music, the fruit stands... it seemed that there was nothing that Danny would not do to make sure the tour was a great one. What an amazing team you have in Cuba, I cannot wait to do another tour with MacQueen and would not hesitate to recommend the tours to anyone, well perhaps I will refrain from recommending the tours to octogenarians that have never been on a bicycle before.

I wanted to let you know how much T and I enjoyed our cycling tour in Cuba. It was truly fun and full of all sorts of new and exciting things to see and do. Danny was a superb cycling guide and was very attentive to our needs and made every effort to make our trip a memorable one. His only rule we were encouraged to heed was, "Rubber side down". Danny has a great sense of humor and it didn't take long for us to relax and forget our "up tight" Canadian ways. Our cultural guide, Jose, was also excellent and shared his vast knowledge and answered all of our questions. It was nice to be able to slouch in an air conditioned bus when we were finished our cycling for the day. Our driver, Luis, was very friendly and accommodating.
There didn't seem to be anything that those three wouldn't do to ensure our comfort and safety. I know a lot of things had to occur behind the scenes to make this a smooth trip so thank you very much to all those who played a role in this excellent adventure.

Just to tell you how great it all was: the itinerary, the hotels, the food, the non-cycling activities, the company... Also, tour leaders don't come much better than Dan McQ: resourceful, gentle, fast, your-wish-is-my-command attitude, lots of patience!, and the best thing of all, he really seems to derive pleasure from seeing people enjoying themselves! The presence of Kelley, with her delightful cookies, certainly didn't hurt either. I've been on other cycling holidays to Cuba before, with different operators (Exodus and Saddle Skedaddle to be exact), but although they weren't bad at all, I can safely confirm that MacQueen's is king of the fully serviced Cuban bicycle trips!

I still have goosebumps over the natural beauty. The terrain changed daily to provide great variety and a diversity of biking experiences. It was only paralleled by the friendliness of the people. I was certainly reminded that it's not what you have, it's your values, patience, inner peace, simple pleasures etc. The support was of the utmost quality. Kristen, Jesus and Norbay were trustworthy, humorous, authoritative with good advice, flexible, enthusiastic, friendly and sensitive to individual differences.

In the afterglow of a wonderful holiday, I would like to commend your cycling tours as a most interesting and interactive way to visit Cuba. In all, I had a most enjoyable trip and you have my heartfelt thanks.

I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed the tour I made to Santiago, Cuba recently. I can truthfully say that it is one of the best short holidays I have ever taken. You are to be commended on the organization of such an undertaking. Danny was extremely helpful and encouraged us at all times. His love of biking is contagious. Brian and Sergio are two gems. I found no fault with the hotels or the food. At every stop we were treated with utmost courtesy. It was especially most pleasant to be cheered on by the Cubans along the way. It's a great country in which to do such a tour. I don't think one could find more genuinely friendly people anywhere on the face of the earth.

I am writing to let you know what a fabulous adventure I had in my two weeks in Cuba. The country is beautiful especially in the Sierra Maestra Mountains. Everything in my trip went according to plan and was way beyond my expectations. I haven't stopped talking about this trip to everyone who will listen.

We had a wonderful time seeing Cuba under the auspices of MacQueen's and with the assistance of Brian and Sergio. Brian is knowledgeable about his country as well as caring and considerate to those of us novices athletically inclined (not as young) as the other riders! Many thanks for everything!

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed last week's bicycle tour, but I think you know how thrilled I was with everything. There wasn't a single thing that could have made the week more enjoyable for me. Thanks so much for everything.
